Originally from the Bahamas, Ron Butler, is the son of the country's most famous calypso singer. After hitting the stage with his dad at the age of 9, Ron got his start as an actor in the regional theaters of Washington, DC. In 1991, after studying with William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman, he moved to New York to become a member of the acclaimed Atlantic Theater Company. Later, he took to the stage in a different way and pursued a musical career in Europe as a lead vocalist for the jazz band, The Solicitors. In 2004, he was nominated for an IFP Award (Best Breakout Performance) for his work in the HBO-produced film "Everyday People," and has since appeared on "How I Met Your Mother," "Crossing Jordan," "Scrubs," "Ugly Betty," "Summerland," "Boston Legal" and more. Ron can be seen in the films "Smother," with Diane Keaton, Dax Shephard, and Liv Tyler, and "Rain," with CCH Pounder. He has also appeared as President Obama on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "The Daily Show."
