Adil is 1,500 years old but only looks 15. He lives with the Nortons and shares their busy lives when he isn't in his lamp. He is presented to the outside world as an exchange student but in the house he is treated like one of the family. He never fails to intrigue visitors with his flowery language and bizarre historical references. In fact, Adil was born in the fourth century in Balambakadar.
At 14, Emma is the younger sister. She's the impulsive and creative one of the sisters who lives for fashion, friends and parties. Her dream is to work with a top designer and one day have her name on the label of the clothes everyone has to have.
Sophie is the eldest sister at 15. She's passionate about what makes things tick, curious about the world and interested in everything from anatomy of the red ant to the conquest of space.
Emma and Sophie's father is an industrial designer. He works at home from his workshop in the garage on new and often unusual designs. Being at home means he can keep an eye on his daughters.
