So what are cookies anyway?
They are tiny files of data that are stored on your computer when you visit a website.
They don’t actually store sensitive information about you, like your name or address,
but they do hold a ‘key’ so that when you come back to the website the key unlocks
the information that the cookie collected last time.
What do they do?
Lots of useful things!
On the Nickelodeon websites, we use them to remember your activities and the number
of times you have visited. We collect this information to make our websites more
interesting and useful to you. For instance, when you come to one of our websites
via your computer, Nickelodeon collects your IP address.
Cookies are also used to remember really useful things like your high score when
you’ve played a game, or your volume settings when you’ve been watching a clip.
At times, Nickelodeon also collects information about how often you visit pages
and areas in the website so we know which pages are popular and which bits need
updating.

Can you “turn off” cookies?
Yes you can.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent or
you can choose to turn off all cookies. You can do this through your browser settings.
Each browser is different, so you may want your parent/guardian to help you and
you'll probably need to take a look at your Help menu.
If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your experience
on our websites smoother and some of the functions may not work properly.
Advertisers
You may also get cookies from Nickelodeon's advertisers. Nickelodeon does not control
these cookies, and once you have clicked on the advertisement and left Nickelodeon's
website, this policy no longer applies.
Although we don’t control these advertisers, or if they use cookies, we have asked
them not to use behavioural advertising cookies in their adverts on www.nick.co.uk
and www.nicktoons.co.uk.
